Air Cars (Jag Link)

Air Cars (Jag Link)
Release Date: 1997
Genre: Vehicular Combat
Players: 1–2

Description - Air Cars is a first-person vehicular combat game where you fly around and shoot robotic enemies in open environments.

Co-op Experience - Two players can play together using the Jag Link, but it’s rough. Player two mainly assists, and between the poor graphics, bad frame rate, and overall terrible gameplay, it’s not a great experience.

Battle Sphere

  • BattleSphere
    Release Date: 2000
    Genre: Space Shooter
    Players: 1–2

  • Description - A 3D space shooter where you fly around open areas blasting enemies, with a heavy focus on movement and shooting.

  • Co-op Experience - Player two controls a cursor to assist with aiming and shooting, adding extra firepower. It works, but the lack of variety and repetitive visuals make the co-op feel pretty limited overall.

Doom

  • Doom (Jag Link)
    Release Date: 1994
    Genre: First-Person Shooter
    Players: 1–2

  • Description - One of the first home console versions of Doom. It’s missing music in some levels compared to the PC version, but overall it still plays pretty well.

  • Co-op Experience - Supports two-player co-op using the Jag Link. You can play through the full campaign together, but the connection was known to disconnect, so you might not actually make it through a full run.

Raiden

  • Raiden
    Release Date: 1994
    Genre: Shoot ’em Up
    Players: 1–2

  • Description - A vertical scrolling shooter where you fly around, shoot enemies, collect power-ups, and progress through stages.

  • Co-op Experience - Full two-player co-op. One of the more solid co-op experiences on the system, even if it’s not as good as the arcade or PS1 versions.

Tempest 2000

  • Tempest 2000
    Release Date: 1994
    Genre: Arcade Shooter
    Players: 1–2

  • Description - A fast-paced arcade shooter where you move around geometric shapes and shoot enemies coming down lanes.

  • Co-op Experience - Two-player co-op is supported, and this is easily the best co-op game on the system. The gameplay is simple, smooth, and actually holds up really well.
